Tis the Season

It's officially Halloween season. This week the girls got to go to Hee Haw farms for FHE, the Thanksgiving Point farm with Hillary, and Jaker's pumpkin patch  for a playdate with the Faucettes. Sadie and I also made Halloween sugar cookies and brought some treats to our neighbors. 

Hee Haw farms did not disappoint. Elise didn't remember the animal train ride and cried a bit as it started. Check out Elise's adorable bob. (Ben & Toni- I was attempting to replicate Eliza's adorable hair)

 She was all smiles as they pulled back in. If we only went on the animal train ride all night I think my girls would be happy. 

 Sadie was excited to ride Bear the pony like she has the past 2 years, so we let her. Elise got the other pony, who is about twice the size. She wouldn't hold on to the saddle and we were convinced she was going to eat it the whole time. Elise was giddy and giggling and Sadie wouldn't stop talking about the horse poop. 

Sadie got nervous about the big slide, but after one time down with dad she remembered how fun it is and did it by herself the rest of the night.  

 The girls both participated in the hog chases. I went in with Elise during her age group and she loved it. I am convinced she would have won....if she hadn't fallen straight onto her face into the mud. Then she screamed. Sadie insisted she wanted to do it and she ran for about 15 seconds and then burst into tears. She told me all the yelling made her nervous.

 After a thrilling candy hayride we went back for one more animal train ride and a confusing walk through the corn maze during which both our children cried to go home. We drive by this farm almost every day since it is close to our house and Elise talks about the very scary corn.

No pictures of the trip to Thanksgiving Point. But Hillary took the girls one morning when she was babysitting. It was awesome. 

Jaker's Jack-o-lantern pumpkin patch never disappoints me. Because it is all free. And they have lots of fun stuff.  If you just take Emett and Sadie from the first picture and Hunter and Elise from the second picture we'd have a real Halloween winner. 

 This year Jaker's has added some slides, a haunted hall and a kids-size hay maze. 

Hunter and Sadie ran around laughing as usual. In the hay maze the 4-year-olds played along the top and the 2-year-olds wandered around the middle together. The only problem was that they were so short Kaylie and I couldn't find them a lot of the time. In the end I let the girls each pick out $1 pumpkins so the whole trip came to $2 and the price of gas to Springville.

Next up- attempting to copy an adorable Halloween-themed front door. I can't find white streamers anywhere! No stores around me have them. Someone please send me some. Thanks.
