Sadie woke up like this on Friday. If you can't tell, her face is swollen all around her right eye.
So maybe Elephant Child is an extreme nickname. But in my defense it looked much worse in person and it's always funnier when you exaggerate. She looked like this before she went to sleep on Thursday night:

Just normal, slightly different sized eyes (her left eye is usually a little smaller).
But then she woke up looking like this:

You can see how puffy her eyelid was in this picture.

How does a 7 month old wake up with a swollen face? We had no idea and apparently it is not very common because Sadie's doctor insisted we come in at their soonest available appointment. Unfortunately, that was not until 10:45 AM and by that time Sadie's eye was back to normal so I canceled the appointment.
Only time will tell if the elephant eye will return.

This elephant eye better not be contagious! 'Cause if it is, I'm not coming to Utah anymore. I'm going to google it.
